The flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akufo Addo has vowed to ensure that NPP makes history in Ghana’s political calendar in the December elections.
He said the party will ensure that it hands over power to itself after winning free, fair and transparent elections.
The flag bearer was speaking at the NPP headquarters at a ceremony to unveil a campaign team for the December polls.
The campaign team has former Tourism Minister, Jake Obetsebe Lamptey as its Chairman.
Other top NPP gurus who contested the flag bearership of the party with Akufo-Addo last December have been given special roles in the campaign team.
They include Messrs. Alan Kyerematen, Dan Botwe, Hackman Owusu Agyeman, Felix Owusu Agyepong and Drs. Arthur Kennedy and Kofi Konadu Apraku.
Nana Addo told journalists at the event that his presidency will ensure that the self esteem and confidence of Ghanaians were raised.
A vigorous fight against corruption, he stated was non negotiable in an Akufo-Addo presidency.
The presidential hopeful also outlined four areas that he would focus on.
They included consolidating the country’s democracy, modernising the Ghanaian society, protecting the environment and maintaining a proper balance between rights and responsibilities.
The National Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Peter Mac Manu expressed the confidence of the party in the Electoral Commission EC.
He said the party had faith in the EC and believed the commission was capable of organising credible elections in the country.
