A number of people were on Sunday trapped under the capsized trailer of an articulated truck at Aburokyire near Kumasi.
One person died on the spot while two were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
At the time of filing this report efforts were still underway to rescue the rest of the people who had been trapped with the cattle with which they had been travelling.
The articulator truck was carrying about 90 cattle and 10 people from Pusiga, near Bawku, to Kumasi.
Luv FM’s Adu Gyamfi told Joy News that the accident was as a result of the failure of the driver to apply his hand break after parking the vehicle.
According to him, the vehicle careened into a ditch resulting in the accident.
