A group of New Patriotic Party (NPP), youth in Tamale have embarked on a mission to compel party executives in the region to be productive.
The group calling itself ‘Kandahar Group’ has embarked on impounding party vehicles in the possession of Regional Executives of the party.
On a Citi FM news bulletin monitored by myjoyonline Monday March 31, 2008, the youth are reported to have embarked on rampage to teach the party executives a lesson.
The lesson they intend to teach them is that, they should learn to use the vehicles for party activities and not their private businesses. The youth are therefore, preventing the executives from using the vehicles for their personal purposes.
Speaking to Citi News, leader of the ‘Kandahar Group’ Mohammed Alhassan says the party executives are using the vehicles of the party to chase contracts, and when they win the contracts, they use the vehicles to execute the contracts.
He argued that the vehicles were given to the officials so they would mobilize party members to work towards winning the 2008 general elections and not for their private businesses.
According to the report party executives in the Municipality have ran out of town.
