A shooting to death of one person in Gbing-bamong in the East Mamprusi District of the Northern Region has led to violent clashes between Tambo-sas and Bimobas.
It is neither clear yet the identity of the deceased person nor the reason for the attack but the Assembly member for the area Nyunmon Kolan has confirmed there has been violent exchanges between members of the two farming communities.
According to him, the deceased person, suspected to be a Bimoba, was shot Thursday dawn.
He said the Bimobas in anger went to attack the Tambo-sas community late yesterday, forcing the Tambo-sas to retaliate.
The violent clashes have led to severe injuries and several houses burnt.
Nyunmon Kolan said the police in all cases intervened to stop the attacks but no arrest has yet been made.
