The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) chief executive, Dr. Alfred Vanderpuije says he will continue to ensure that law and order prevails within the metropolis.
According to him, his Friday inspection of buildings is to ensure that the right specifications are being followed to avert any disaster.
The Accra Mayor was reacting to his critics, who have condemn him for his Friday inspection of buildings.
This follows accusations by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu, that the mayor has "overstepped his boundaries for demolishing shops at Dansoman recently”.
But the Accra Mayor told Joy News that he will never shirk his responsibility to ensure that Accra becomes one of the Millennium cities in the World.
"The AMA has a function. We have a duty to perform and we will perform our duties to the best of our knowledge and ability.
"We will not shirk away from our responsibilities", Dr. Vanderpuije assured.
