Ghana defender Harrison Afful says winning a fourth Tunisian Ligue 1 title in five seasons with Esperance means a lot to him.
The Tunisian giants were installed champions on Sunday with two matches to spare.
The former Asante Kotoko defender played the entire duration in the 1-0 win over Union Sportive Monastirienne at home.
Afful joined Esperance in 2010 and won three titles in a row before CS Sfaxien toppled them last season.
“It means a lot to me and I give thanks to God almighty for yet another wonderful season and crowning it with the title,” he told Joy sports
“Since I came here this is my fourth league title with Esperance and I hope it will continue like this and keep working hard for the club to achieve more success.
“Winning this title has boosted my moral for the upcoming World Cup, I hope I will have a good tournament.”
Esperance will play CS Sportif de Hammam-Lif on Thursday and play their last match of the season on14 May against Avenir Sportif de la Marsa.
