Black Stars defender Rashid Sumaila has exclusively told Joy sports winning the South African league this season is a dream come true for him in his professional career.
Sundowns beat Supersport United in their penultimate fixture of the season 3-0 at home to seal the title ahead of second-place Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday.
The hard-tackling Sumaila who joined Sundowns from Asante Kotoko last year June after signing a pre-contract in January played a key role in Sundowns success having played 22 out of 29 league games.
This title represents his second consecutive league title in two years as a player following a title with Asante Kotoko and the 22 year old says he is excited at helping Sundowns achieve this feat.
“This is my first season here at Sundowns and for me it is a dream come true to have won the PSL with this great team,” he told Joy sports in an exclusive interview
“I’m really happy for this because we were all looking forward to it and I’m satisfied with my contribution as well because out of the 29 games we have played so far I have made 22 appearances.
“So I have done a lot for the club and if not for injury sometimes I’m sure I would have played all the matches, now I hope I will be able to win more titles with the team.”
