Mr Kobina Greenstreet, General Secretary of Convention People’s Party (CPP) has stated that the issue of ceding Parliamentary seats to other political parties was not on the party’s agenda.
He said the party would contest all the 10 constituencies in Upper West Region in Election 2008 and had already elected Parliamentary aspirants for eight with the exception of the Sissala East and West constituencies which were yet to conduct primaries.
Mr Greenstreet was addressing a workshop organised by the party for its regional and constituency executives in the Region at Wa.
It was sponsored by the management of Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) to focus on managing internal party conflicts and relations with other political parties and sensitized them on the Party’s manifesto.
Mr Greenstreet noted that CPP had the goodwill of the people to win Election 2008 and called on all supporters to unite behind Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, CPP Flag bearer for victory.
He was optimistic the knowledge acquired at the workshop would help them to contribute to peaceful, free and fair elections.
Mr Abu Mumuni, Upper West Regional Chairman of the Party, expressed appreciation to management of IEA for sponsoring the workshop for the delegates.
