Mpumalanga Black Aces have confirmed a “marquee” signing after snapping up Ghana defender Edwin Gyimah from SuperSport United.
The 23-year-old had been touted for a move to Europe in this transfer window, but has ended up at AmaZayoni instead after the two clubs agreed to a transfer on Thursday.
Gyimah, who joined SuperSport as a midfielder from Ghana club Hasaacas FC but was later converted to defence, will join up with his new teammates on Friday.
"Edwin is an excellent player and a genuine marquee signing and we are delighted to have him playing in the Aces colours this season," Black Aces chairman Mario Morfou said.
Gyimah made 73 starts in his two-and-a-half seasons at SuperSport, scoring a single goal. He did manage four red cards in that time too.
