Seven goals were recorded on the first day of the play-offs as B.A. United and and Real Tamale United opened their promotion campaign with victories on Sunday.
B.A United defeated former premiership side Berekum Arsenal 2-0 to jump top of the Zone I standings ahead of RTU who managed a 3-2 win over Wa African United.
Both teams will meet on Wednesday in a battle for the top.
Samuel Norgbey and Charles Oppong scored both goals for B.A at the Robert Mensah Stadium.
At the Essipon Stadium Wisdom Kelly, Emmanuel Kwamena and Anwar Mashoud all scored to put RTU in the lead before halftime.
However, the former elite side survived a second scare after Eric Borketey and Nuhu Yakubu pulled two goal back before the 58th minute.
The competition continues in midweek as the team that finishes with the most points secures the final qualifying spot to the Premier League.
