Some 16 people are reported dead in two separate crashes on the Kumasi-Kintampo road in less than 24 hours.
According to Mohammed, a man claiming to be a son of one of the passengers killed in the crash, 14 persons died Tuesday, with two others dying Wednesday at about 11 am.
Mohammed told Joy News the injured persons have been rushed to the Techiman Hospital in the Brong Ahafo Region.
He narrated that a mini bus tried to overtake an oncoming vehicle from Tamale but the driver failed to control the wheel and drove straight into a long vehicle, killing and injuring the passengers onboard.
He also alleged that some affected relatives at the Techiman mortuary, where the dead bodies have been deposited, are being asked by the police to pay GHȼ400 for each of the bodies before they are allowed to collect them.
