The Multimedia Group on Wednesday drew the curtain down on its EDUCARE programme for the 2014/2015 academic year with an increase in the number of beneficiaries.
The EDUCARE scheme supports needy but brilliant students, and it is part of Multimedia Group’s corporate social responsibility.
Management of Multimedia Group launched the annual EDUCARE scholarship programme for the 2014/2015 academic year in April this year.
Despite financial challenges, Multimedia increased the number of EDUCARE recipients from 20 to 30 at the second cycle level.
The scholarship is administered to beneficiaries from Senior High Schools in Ghana to pursue their chosen courses and may cover all or part of school fees, books, supplies and pocket money.
After sponsoring a number of brilliant but needy students over the years, the board of the Multimedia Group, along with its numerous brands took another giant step towards improving the lives of the future leaders in Ghana when final selection of beneficiaries was done this week.

Board member Vicky Wireko-Andoh said Multimedia appreciates the challenges parents face in their quest to provide formal education for their brilliant children, explaining that influenced the board’s decision to expand the scheme.
She indicated EDUCARE would soon be expanded to cover students at the tertiary level of education.
Over 100 students have benefited since the scheme was launched in November 2008.
Parents and guardians of beneficiaries were present to observe their wards go through the final selection process and they expressed gratitude for the opportunity presented them by Multimedia.
