Mesut Ozil has been blasted for his Arsenal form - but the stats tell a different story.
The German World Cup winner has bagged seven goals and 12 assists in 39 games since making a £42.5m move from Real Madrid.
Ozil has come under flak for not contributing enough despite being played out of position on the wing.
But Ozil has a higher pass completion rate at Arsenal than any other club he's played for.
During his year at Arsenal, Ozil has made 2,339 passes at a completion rate of 87 per cent.
At Real Madrid, Ozil completed 6,675 passes at a rate of 85 per cent.
And, at Schalke and Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga, Ozil completed 83 per cent of passes.
Ozil hit out at his critics after playing a starring role for the Gunners in a 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday.
He said: "I don’t play to prove anything to anybody, I play for Arsenal.
“I have the feeling that I am criticised more, that happened to me in the Bundesliga and also at Real Madrid.
“We have only just started the season [at Arsenal], we have new players in key positions. The collective game, which is something I have a lot to do with, cannot then just work well from one day to the next.
“[Just] 10 weeks ago I was elected to the team of the season in England [via an internet poll on the Premier League website].
“I was world champion then. It was the summer break and after a few games [of the new season] everything is called into question again. This is strange, but I know what I can offer.”
