The Electoral Commission (EC) is raising concerns about the cooperation of political parties in tomorrow’s by-election.
Although the EC has had no major difference with any of the parties, it is however displeased with the way the parties quickly run to the media with their concerns.
There have been accusations and counter accusations from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) contesting the seat on various public platforms ahead of the Nkoranza North polls.
The EC said both parties must address all their concerns to the Commission for appropriate actions.
Speaking to Joy News on preparations towards tomorrow’s polls, the acting Public Affairs Manager of the EC, Mr Samuel Yorke-Aidoo, said all is set. He said the polling station personnel have undergone capacity training, ballot papers are ready and have been packaged to their respective centres.
“Security is also under control. We are very confident that the police are going to handle the situation very well. As you may have observed, because of tension around by-elections we normally beef up security and this one is not going to be different,” he assured.
He said the tension needs to be managed in order to ensure smooth election.
