Mr Ransford Ocloo, Volta Regional Director of National Youth Council (NYC) has appealed to President John Evans Atta Mills and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to implement the national youth policy. He said the absence of a youth policy had made planning in all spheres of youth development programmes including skills training ineffective.Mr Ocloo made the appeal in an interview with Ghana News Agency at Ho.He suggested that the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) should be placed under the NYC, as the statutory body for youth issues to coordinate all youth related programmes in the country to reduce cost.Mr Ocloo urged Government to resolve the current situation of too many parallel bodies handling youth issues in the country to ensure youth programming efficiency. He contended that NYEP was a brainchild of NYC and under its umbrella could be strengthened and managed well.Source: GNA
