An aide to former president Rawlings, Kofi Adams, says top shots of the NDC are in disagreement with President Mills’ decision to allow DCEs to stay.
He said keeping the District Chief Executives in office places an extra financial burden on the government.
Mr. Adams was speaking to scathing attacks on the transitional team by former president Rawlings.
Mr. Rawlings complained the DCEs who should have been chased out are allowed to stay in office and persecute NDC supporters as well as tinker with official documents.
Speaking on Joy FM, Kofi Adams said the comments of the former President only reflected concerns by most members of the NDC.
Former President Rawlings’ aide said the comments made by his boss have vindicated the NDC because they are inconsistent with earlier suggestions that a vote for Prof. Mills was a vote for Rawlings.
He said the fact that President Mills was taking decisions that Mr Rawlings disagrees with is an indication that the President is assertive.
“One thing has been achieved, that President Mills is taking his own decisions and is not being influenced by anybody from anywhere,” he noted.
