Mr. Enoch Osei–Sarfo, Kintampo South District Director of Education, has commended the World Vision International for adopting and supporting about 3000 students in the area in their education.Mr. Osei–Sarfo told the Ghana News Agency at Jema that the NGO had been very supportive in promoting education in the district and this has helped to improve academic standards. It also provided financial support for capacity training workshops for teachers last year to enable them to face the challenges of the new educational reform programme. The district director said the organization was preparing dual desks for distribution to basic schools in the district and called on teachers to redouble efforts for a remarkable change in education delivery. He called on parents to support and encourage their children to take their education seriously.Mr. Osei-Sarfo urged School Management Committees and Parent Teacher Associations to strike cordial relationships among themselves towards instilling discipline in students.“Students should be law-abiding and respectful to their teachers,” he urged, and advised teachers to live above reproach as role models. The district director appealed to religious leaders to help educate the youth to lead morally-upright lives by avoiding social vices.Source: GNA
