The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital has temporary suspended the admission of new patients to the surgical medical emergency (SME) unit of the hospital.
In a release signed by the Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Mustapha Salifu, the unit would be closed to the public from 12 pm Thursday 5 February to 8 am Monday February 9, 2009.
“This temporary suspension of the new admissions to the unit is to enable the hospital undertake constructional works aimed at expanding the patients’ reception bay of the SME,” the statement said.
The hospital therefore advises patients who require emergency medical services to call on other health facilities.
