Anglican Bishops from West Africa are attending a week’s Consultative Meeting to deliberate on specific projects to build deepened partnerships to inspire other Anglican and Episcopal Faith communities to care and empower each other in Kumasi.The meeting under the auspices of Global Partners Trinity Grants Programme would in addition, strengthen ties within the Anglican Communion through mission-based partnerships.It is being attended by Anglican Bishops from Ghana, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya, Cameroon and areas of mission including the global support for Anglican partnership for development, eradication of extreme hunger and poverty and improving gender equality and empowerment of women.Other areas would be ensuring environmental sustainability, achieving universal primary education and combating HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases.Right Reverend Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, Anglican Bishop of Kumasi addressing the opening session said this year’s Global Partners had been adopted as a long term funding priority.He called for fruitful deliberations for the Church to grow from strength to strength.Oheneba Adusei Poku, Akyempemhene of Kumasi, who represented the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was optimistic the meeting would help build bridges among members of the Church.SOURCE: GNA
