The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has donated a cheque of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢10,000) to the Veterans Administration, Ghana (VAG) through the Ministry of Defence (MOD) for the centenary celebrations of the World War I.
Presenting the cheque at the Ministry of Defence on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, Lieutenant Colonel (RTD) Yaw Dzotefe-Mensah, General Manager in charge of Security and Special Projects at the NLA, reemphasized the NLA’s willingness to donate more to MOD in the near future for the Veterans.
He stated that the NLA had been in touch with the 37 Military Hospital to provide the hospital with some assistance at its Cardiothoracic centre and other related areas.
The Chief Director of MOD, Alhaji Alidu Fuseini, receiving the cheque on behalf of MOD, thanked the NLA for their wonderful gesture.
According to him, he was not surprised at the gesture since the NLA had been an ally in supporting veterans in the country.
Lt Col (RTD) Dzotefe-Mensah also paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Defence Minister, Alex Segbefia, who conveyed his gratitude to the NLA for the donation.
