Two driver assistants have been arraigned before the Asamankese circuit court charged with abducting a 15-year-old girl and defiling her.
Emmanuel Tei and Kwadwo Awuku, aged 20 years, pleaded not guilty and were remanded in prison custody until March 16.
Police Detective Chief Inspector X.C. Okorey, told the court that the victim, a Junior High School girl, left home at Tetekasum, near Suhum at about 0730 hours on February 28, this year for school but failed to return.
He said while the parents of the girl were searching for her, they had information that she was in the room of Tei at Ali, a suburb of Suhum and they made a report to the Police.
The prosecutor said when the girl’s parents and the police visited the house, they found her and the two men lying in bed naked.
At the police station, the girl told the police that she was returning home from school at about 1730 hours when Awuku gave her a parcel of cooked rice and stew and after eating, she became drowsy.
She said when she regained her consciousness, she found herself in the room of Tei where both men repeatedly had sex with her.
