The mortal remains of Ibrahim Sima, the late CEO of EXOPA Modeling Agency, have been laid to rest five days after he passed away.
Mr Sima died after suffering an injury during a football game in prison on Thursday, December 4.
The late EXOPA CEO was serving a jail term at the Nsawam Prisons in the Eastern region.
His mortal remains were laid to rest at the Tema Community 9 Cemetery in accordance with Islamic traditions.
The body of Mr Sima was officially released to his family after an autopsy was carried out at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra. Results of the autopsy are yet to be made known.
Abu Ibrahim, son of the EXOPA CEO had said his father's death was caused by negligence by prison officers and health officials.
"I am in shock because my dad wasn't a sick person. He was healthy, he was fit. The prison officer himself said it that...anytime Sima wakes up what he does is just exercise," he told Joy News.
Both the Police Hospital and Prisons officials have denied any wrongdoing.
The EXOPA boss was arrested on September 7, 2009 at the Kotoka International Airport when a luggage search revealed tubers of yam in which were embedded narcotic substances.
