The Omanhene of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Area, Obrifo Ahunaku Ahor Ankobea III, has commended President Atta Mills for his District Chief Executive nominees for Gomoa East and West.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Apam on Tuesday, Obrifo Ahaor Ankobea said they were satisfied with Mr Theophilus Ampah and Mr Theophilus Aidoo Mensah, nominated for Gomoa East and West Districts respectively because the two were capable and qualified for the tasks.
The Omanhene described them as men of integrity with high morals.
He appealed to members of the two assemblies to approve the nominees to enable them to settle down in time to tackle the numerous problems facing the two districts.
Obrifo Ahor Ankobea appealed to those who contested for the positions but were not nominated to put the past behind them and support the nominees by sharing whatever ideas or plans they had for the development of the districts.
He appealed to those who might have problems with the nominees to stop demonstrating against them.
“Since they have not performed in that capacity before, it will be unfair to judge them before they even get the approval,” he said.
He said the nominees deserved the chance to prove themselves and if they performed below expectation, then people could call for their removal.
