President John Dramani Mahama has asked drivers to be cautious and do away with recklessness when driving during the Christmas Season.
The festive season often records the highest number of road accidents resulting in fatalities and the destruction of property.
In his Christmas message, President Mahama said Ghana needs every single person alive to contribute to its growth.
“Your loved ones, family and friends and I need you alive. Be discipline on the road by respecting other road users; put a smile on the faces of your loved ones and family by getting to your destination safely. Drive safely.”
He said drivers should put a stop to over speeding, over loading, wrongful overtaking, drunk driving, texting while driving and pay attention to road traffic regulations to ensure their safety and that of passengers.
