Third World, the award winning reggae family from Jamaica, will stir up this year’s Night of 1004 Laughs at the Accra International Conference Centre for another non-stop session of comedy and great music. Scheduled for December 23, the Night of 1004 Laughs, will also feature some of Africa’s finest comedians. Third World is more than just one of the top reggae bands of all time. It is also an institution that produces music from the cultural and ancestral roots of it's members. Formed in 1973, Third World is committed to the excellence of reggae music by combining Jamaican reggae and folk music with all strains of African rhythms, American pop, rhythm & blues, rap and classical music. Third World is one of the longest running and most diverse bands Jamaica has ever produced. With a record of over 33 years of preaching peace and love throughout the world, the group has been nominated 10 times for Grammy awards. They have twice received The Best Show Band Award in Jamaica and also won the UN Peace Medal in 1986. On the night, Third World, together with Ghana’s most popular dance hall group, Wutah, will intermittently rock fans as they listen to jaw breaking jokes from some of Africa’s finest comedians. Clint d’ Drunk will be there and so will this year’s Stars of the Future comedy icons, David and his runner-up, Foster. Also brewed in Nigeria and making a first-time appearance in Ghana will be two other hilarious comedians on stage – Francis Agoda (I Go Die) and Lepacious Bose who have, in the last couple of years, “wowed” their audiences across Africa and beyond with unbeatable jokes.
