The Managing Director of Sparrow Productions, Shirley Frimpong Manso, says her company will continue to support the Miss Ghana Beauty pageant although Sparrow no longer owns the franchise for the contest.
Ms Manso, who is busily premiering her hit movie The Perfect Picture across the continent, dismissed suggestions that her company has lost the franchise because of poor organization.
“I will always stand by the Miss Ghana pageant. We took away Miss Ghana willingly and we are giving it away willingly,” she told Joy FM’s Kwaku Obeng Adjei.
Media Whizz Kidz, the original franchise owners of the Miss Ghana Beauty pageant have taken over the organization of the event, which they say has been repackaged for this year.
Managing Director Christopher Adama said the company is also re-introducing the National Dance Championship, which was suspended after the Miss Ghana pageant was handed over to Sparrow Productions.
