The 1990/92 year group of the St. Mary’s Senior High School, home and abroad has celebrated their 25^th anniversary.

As part of their contribution to improve infrastructure deficit in the school, the group renovated the ground floor of the two-storey building dormitory block which they occupied while in school to ease pressure on existing ones.

A and O level old students from the group based in Ghana and abroad also donated items including computers, scanners and a printer to their alma mater.

President of SMOGA 1990/92 year group, Ms. Naa Afi Quarcoopome said the group while celebrating 25 years of exiting the school decided to give back to the school.

She explained that the St. Theresa’s dormitory which housed them while in school had become inhabitable after 25 years hence the decision to rehabilitate it.

The ceilings, the floors, bedrooms and the washroom were rehabilated with each room provided lockers for the students. The entire building was also painted.

Naa Quarcoopome was grateful to all who contributed their quota to make the programme possible and pledged the group’s continual support to the school.

SMOGA 1990/92 year group also presented gift to the school and awarded their headmistress and pass teachers.

Headmistress for the school, Ms. Doris Bramson was full of praise for the 990/92 year group for giving bacck to the students.

She said that prior to the renovation, the building was seen as a death trap as the ceiling was ripping off posing security threat.

“The contribution of the 1990/92 year group home and abroad has come in handy to the school...,” she added.

Ms. Bramson said the massive contribution of old girls of St. Mary’s has helped the school address its infrastructural challenges over the years.

The 25^th anniversary coincided with the school’s 65^th speech and prize-giving day and deserving students and teachers were awarded accordingly.

On her part, House Mistress of St. Theresa’s dormitory, Ms. Margaret Nyame expressed profound gratitude to the old girls.

She said the students who were moved to other dormitory due to the nature of the ground will return to their original rooms.

Ms. Nyame promised SMOGA 1990/92 that they would put the facility to good use and keep it fresh and neat.
