Actor Van Vicker is urging government officials and other citizens who want to give out food items to people, to be cautious of their distribution method.
In an Instagram post, he said that the overcrowding at stops where food items are being given out, rather encourages the spread of the coronavirus.
“It defeats social distancing; it defeats people gathering with no mask. It is rather promoting the spread of the virus, essentially. Extremely disquieting,” he wrote.
Van Vicker also shared a video where soldiers in some other country obeyed social distancing rules while sharing food items to citizens.
The food items were delivered to people on their doorsteps presumably to encourage social distancing and the need to stay home.
The actor said that although he knows people mean well by giving to the less privileged, more appropriate means could be used to distribute food items.
“I got the video I posted here as a forward and it pleased me so I decided to share hoping the right person sees it and change the food distribution method.”
