Muslims in Ghana and many other parts of the world will this year have to go about their Ramadan fast in a way they have never done before due to the Covid-19 pandemic which is wreaking havoc the world over.
As a result of restrictions on public gatherings in Ghana for instance, the most sacred period on the Muslim calendar will be done without the usual congregation in mosques.
On the occasion of his 101st birthday, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu together with Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, called on the Muslim population to brace up for what will be a special Ramadan fast of a lifetime.
The Imam admitted that the situation the pandemic has created was not ordinary and thus beseeched the entire Muslim community to stay at home and observe the Ramadan.
