When the residents of Adabraka and its environs went to bed on Monday night, little did they know they will be greeted with a flood on Tuesday dawn.
They woke up abruptly from sleep to fight a flood which was threatening their very existence.
Some of them had to stay awake to scoop water from the torrential rain to save themselves and their properties.
At about 7 am when myjoyonline.com visited Odawna and Adabraka, two of the hard-hit areas the residents were counting their loses and salvaging what they could.
Some of the residents at Adabraka Sahara where there is a newly constructed drainage blamed the contractor for a shoddy job.
They said the poor quality of the job done there is the cause of the flooding in their locality.
