Government has started the distribution of personal protective equipment (PPEs) and other sanitary materials to various tertiary institutions across the country.
This comes ahead of the reopening of schools on Monday, June 15, 2020.
The items include face masks, Veronica buckets, hand sanitisers, and thermometers.

Ghana's Airforce under the supervision of the National Security is leading the distribution to the various regions for onward delivery.
In total, about 254 tertiary institutions are expected to be served.

Addressing the media before the distribution, Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said, 200, 000 people are expected to benefit from the materials, with each person expected to receive at least 3 reusable face mask.
According to him, enough material have been procured for this purpose.

"We have also made an allowance of about 10 percent extra and factored in non-teaching staff as well" he stated.
The distribution of these items is expected to augment measures put in place by the tertiary institutions.

According to him, beginning June 15, final year students are to resume school starting with University students.
