Asante Kotoko have confirmed the appointment of Nana Yaw Amponsah as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer, bringing an end to three months of search.
The Porcupine Warriors since June have been without a substantive manager. The club’s new board of directors, chaired by Dr Kwame Kyei dissolved the George Amoako-led management.
Amponsah was unveiled by the club on Friday in Kumasi. This is after a reported meeting with the club’s owner, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

His appointment was initially ruled out by Manhyia Palace. They were not enthused with the manner in which details of Amponsah’s meeting with the board of directors was leaked to the media.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Political Science from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a Master's Degree in Sports Law and Practices from the Leicester DE Montfort University, UK.
From 2008 to 2018, he was a Licensed Player Agent/Intermediary and transferred over 50 players from Ghana and almost 100 across the globe, which brought huge revenues to Ghanaian Clubs in the process.
In 2019, he contested the Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential elections, losing to Kurt Okraku.
