Gospel musician Joe Beecham has joined Joy News' Peace Campaign by calling on Ghanaians to preserve the peaceful atmosphere in the country as the December polls approaches.
He said the country unlike some of her counterparts has enjoyed peace for decades and there is the need to cherish and protect it.
“Our dearly beloved Ghana is precious. We have a lot of peace. Do not set the nation on fire. Don’t burn the nation”, he said on Joy FM's JoyTime in His Presence show, Thursday.
The pastor at the Holy Fire Ministries spoke against negative ethnic remarks that foster conflict among people especially as the country goes to the polls soon.
Joy News launched the campaign to sensitise Ghanaians on the need to have a peaceful election devoid of any violence.
A lot of celebrities, politicians and social leaders have endorsed the campaign calling on Ghanaians to eschew violence and tolerate opposing views running to the election.
"In honour of our great ancestors, Ghanaians have an obligation to the past leaders and themselves to protect what they fought for and for the younger generation to come," he said.
Joe Beecham said all Ghanaians are siblings and need to elect whom they think can push the nation forward, work together with the winner and each other to push the country to a greater height.
“Let us preserve it because it is yours, it is mine. Our forefathers did their part, it is our turn to do ours.
“You say you are from up there, somebody is from down there. Don’t forget I am your brother and you are my brother,” he said.
