Highlife artiste Kuami Eugene says Sarkodie owes him some money if he was paid by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to release the new single 'Happy Day'.
In an interview with Dr Pounds on Hitz FM’s Hitz Gallery show, he stated that his verse on the song is his intellectual property, hence, if it will serve any greater purpose that will yield money, then he has to be paid accordingly.
"If he gets an alert legally over the song we did as brothers, then he must send me something,” Kuami Eugene said.
His comment comes after the duo generated a buzz on social media following the release of the song with many saying the main key was endorsing the NPP ahead of the December 7 elections.
Sarkodie had touted the achievements of NPP flagbearer Akufo-Addo adding that he will prefer that he continues his tenure because of his good works.
Hours after Ghanaians began commenting on their support for the NPP, Sarkodie came out to deny the song was released to support the party and President Akufo-Addo’s bid for a second term.
Kuami Eugene told Dr Pounds that he had no idea Sarkodie has said anything about the President in the song until it was too late.
However, he does not appreciate people slamming the rapper for his words.
"Sarkodie is a senior man. People shouldn’t act like he doesn’t know what he is saying. This is Sarkodie… he knows the consequences and he has his motives."
