The maiden edition of the Women Connect Conference was held last Friday at The Lotte inside Stanbic Heights in Accra
The networking event which brought women from all walks of life is designed to create partnerships among top tier corporate entrepreneurial and professional women.
It also aims at creating the opportunity for these women to dialogue on their challenges, improve their personal and professional standing and that of their institutions through these partnerships.
Present at the event were Spanish Ambassador to Ghana, Madam Alicia Rico Perez and Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana, Madam Imane Quaadil, President for Women in Tourism in Ghana, Ambassador Nancy Sam and the President for the Queen Mothers Foundation of Ghana, Nana Ama Serwaa Bonsu.

The ambassadors during their speech lauded organisers of the event, Vilemi Company Limited for bringing women together to synergise and create strong sustainable networks in Ghana and beyond.
They also charged women to tap into the African Continental Free Trade and the opportunities that come with it.

Josephine Nsaful, a General Surgeon at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital delivered an inspiring speech on cancer, with an emphasis on the awareness of breast cancer.
Head of Joy Business also spoke on how women can take advantage of the media to promote their businesses by creating visibility for their products and services. She advised them to make themselves available to speak on topical issues in the media space.

Other women who spoke include Ms Victoria Aligbo (GM, Pentrust), Mrs Gladys Amartey Commey (CEO, All Pure Nature).
The event, which was hosted by Hitz FM’s Doreen Avio was on the theme “Connect to Unearth”, as they believe women forming strong partnerships in their diverse fields could spark greater opportunities for themselves.
According to the organisers of the event, the Conference is expected to be held annually and will include post-event conversations and activities which they believe they can help create a strong business network in and outside Ghana.
