Ashanti Region Police Command has confirmed the death of the two persons involved in road rage at Ayeduase near Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.
Police PRO in Kumasi, Godwin Ahianyo said Kwame Amoah, 52, was the first to die at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital hours after he was shot three times in the stomach.
The suspect, Sampson Zabanga, 31, was also confirmed dead a few hours later.
Mr Zabanga shot Mr Amoah after he warned him against reckless driving on the Ayeduase KNUST stretch on Tuesday.
Eyewitnesses said Mr Zabanga had exchanged words with another driver after they both accused each other of reckless driving.
The victim, Mr Amoah and others had stepped in to make peace between the two drivers at a location close to the KNUST exit of the stretch.
Some words of Mr Amoah did not go down well with Mr Zabanga resulting in exchange of slaps between the two gentlemen.
Mr Zabanga who was infuriated, according to police, brought out a gun and shot Mr Amoah three times in the stomach.
A mob was restrained from drawing closer as the suspect kept firing shots.
Stones being pelted by the mobs restrained the suspect from driving away.
Mr Zabanga is said to have attempted suicide shot himself in the head, leading to his death in the hospital later.
