The New Patriotic Party (NPP)'s parliamentary candidate for Sene West constituency has withdrawn his injunction suit against the Electoral Commission (EC) in the disputed declaration of results there.
Joseph Kuma Mackay filed a suit seeking to restrain the EC from counting and collating the results from a polling station where a ballot box was snatched during the December 7 election.
The box was subsequently retrieved but some ballot papers in them had been tampered with as seals of the NPP had been torn.
The Commission was ordered to put on hold the declaration of the results in the constituency following the incident.
Consequently, Mr Kuma Mackay on Tuesday filed a motion to withdraw the injunction place on the EC.
However, the High Court judge in Wenchi is set to rule on the substantive matter on Thursday.
This will, therefore, pave way for the EC to declare winners of the presidential and parliamentary elections in the constituency.
Currently, the New Patriotic Party and National Democratic Congress have won 137 and 136 seats respectively, with one independent candidate and only the Sene West Constituency is outstanding.
