Aduana Stars scored two unanswered goals against Hearts of Oak to achieve their first win and condemn the Phobians to their second defeat of the Ghana Premier League season.
The Ogya Boys broke the deadlock in a seemingly balanced game through Yahaya Mohammed.
The striker had vowed to score prior to the game and he did in the 42nd minute when he capitalized on a perfectly executed cross to open the scoring. it was his third goal of the season.
The hosts made it two shortly after the restart. This time, it was Prince Acquah who scored from about 40 yards.
The Phobians got an opportunity to score a consolation in the 92nd minute but Raddy Ovouka missed a penalty. The left-back was also guilty of missing an open goal.
Currently, the Accra-based side have failed to find the net in three of their last five league matches.
They also have a goal tally of five in five games which brings an average of one goal per game. The club has dropped to 10th place with five points after the result.
Aduana, in comparison, have moved up to 5th with six points.
