An American pest control management company, Orkin LLC, has officially launched its branch in the country, Orkin Ghana.
Speaking at the ceremony, an official of Orkin LLC, Dr Ron Harrison assured prospective customers that the new subsidiary in the country will provide the same high standards as it is practiced across the world.
He further highlighted the importance of fumigating public areas, particularly, workplaces.
“We all know the menace that pests can be. Their presence in some cases can lead to severe sickness and indeed death. This obviously has its impact on the general health of the nation.
“Orkin is here to impact positively on the general and social health of the nation and help our nationals to operate in well managed and world class standard pest-controlled environments,” he said.
With the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr Harrisson said Orkin Ghana will play an active role to combat the virus.
“We are in the middle of a big fight against the deadliest pandemic of our times called coronavirus. We are also aware that being healthy at this time is one of the best ways to stay on top of the virus and its rate of infections.
“Very, central to this fight is pest control, which reduces the onset and incidence of diseases and to constantly fumigate premises with antibacterial agents to lower and slow down bacterial spread which aids the virus.”
Moreover, Dr Harrisson said Orkin having a national franchise to operate in the country, it will have the potential to create several jobs throughout the country by employing technicians, administrators and drivers.
He also noted that indirect jobs will also be created through the positive impact the establishment will have on the economy of the country.
