The Ghana Beach Soccer Association (gbsa) has confirmed that Ghana's national beach soccer team the Black Sharks will be in action on Ghana's lndependence Day in Durban, South Africa.
The Ghanaians will once again come up against the continents top teams in the Powerhorse Beach Soccer African Trophy. Other countries in the tournament will be Nigeria, Madagascar, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Morocco, Seychelles and host nation South Africa.
The competition will be an important preparation tool for the Sharks who will travel to Kampala to face the Sand Cranes of Uganda in a CAF Beach Soccer qualifier for Seychelles 2015.
Meanwhile as part of a rotation policy to give local beach soccer coaches exposure and experience, the gbsa will reveal the identitities of the new coaches to lead the team to South Africa next month.
A media briefing to unveil the squad will be held on Wednesday morning at the Accra Sports stadium.
With two leagues running simultaneously, the Black Sharks team is made up wholly of players featuring in the Championship and Division leagues unlike other countries who draft professional association footballers to form their teams.
This policy has so far proved highly effective as Ghana is now ranked number 7th by CAF and 63rd by FIFA making the Sharks the fastest rising beach soccer team on the continent.
