Japan’s U24 team humiliated Ghana’s U24 team scoring six unanswered goals against the West African giants at the Fukuoka Best Denki Stadium in Tokyo.
An own goal from Frank Assinki and well taken strikes by Takefusa Kubo and Doan Ritsu ensured the Japanese went into the half time break 3-0 up.
It could have been worse as the warning signs were clear with the Asians dominating the game entirely.
Japan continued to cut through a shell-shocked Ghanaian team in the second half as Soma Yuki extended their lead three minutes after the break.
Ueda Ayase made it five after he scored with a brilliant header.
The Japanese went on to complete the scoring, on what was a magical evening, as Mitoma Kaora added a sixth.
The result leaves Paa Kwesi Fabin wondering where it all went wrong for his side who never looked a match against Japan.
Ghana will have the opportunity to right their wrongs when they meet the same Japanese side in four days time.
