Atlanta-based Ghanaian broadcaster, Kweku Osei says that no matter the dialect a musician composes songs in, they will be forced to always include the English language.
According to the media personality, singing in English is a great strategy and a good marketing tool.
Speaking in an interview with Doreen Avio on JoyNews, Kweku Osei justified his claim and stated that English language is widely known across the world and will make people understand your music well enough.
“Let’s be honest, let’s look at the numbers. This is just a quick lesson to anyone that is observing. People have their opinion until they are smacked with numbers; you may feel that the government should give you this but you get smacked with the actual numbers and then understand that this is the bottom line and everyone is really looking at what and what you see as the business bit.

“For instance we have many dialects, and any artiste from any part of the continent, no matter what your dialect is, you will eventually be forced to incorporate some type of english or pidgin which is more massively recognized. So that there is an understanding so that people can say that I understand what I am listening to”, he said.
Kweku Osei added that as a musician, you cannot be successful in the American market if you are not coachable.
“You cannot really have success in the American market if you are not coachable. You can do it your way, but you should not expect commercial results. That’s my philosophy on how you go about cultivating your success.” he stated.
