The Regional Manager of the Bono Islamic Education Unit, Sheikh Abdul-Munin Abubakar Sampene, has called for the posting of more Arabic teachers to Islamic schools in the region.
Speaking on a Sunyani-based local radio station, Sheikh Abubakar Sampene said this will help strengthen Islamic education in the Bono region.

He stated that successive governments have over the years ignored the recruitment and clearance of Arabic teachers, worsening the unemployment situation in Ghana.
The situation, he said is worrying, urging the current government to take immediate steps to rectify it.
Sheikh Abubakar Sampene noted that inadequate quality Arabic teachers in the various Islamic schools within the Bono region have contributed to the collapse of Islamic education.

"There is an urgent need to rekindle the ailing Islamic education in the Bono region to inspire more children to get interested in Arabic education," he stressed.
The Regional Manager of the Bono Islamic Education Unit observed that Islamic schools are far left behind as compared to other mission schools in terms of the availability of teaching and non-teaching staff as well as other logistics.

He consequently appealed to the government to give the needed attention to Islamic education, urging the Ministry of Education and Ghana Education Service (GES) to hurriedly consider the recruitment of qualified trained Arabic teachers into the various schools in the Bono region.
Sheikh Abubakar Sampene also encouraged parents to pay more attention to their ward's education by making sure every necessary resource is made available for them.
