Victories for King Faisal and Ebusua Dwarfs on matchday 31 meant Inter Allies have been officially relegated from the Ghana Premier League.

The Eleven is to One boys are currently rooted at the bottom of the league with 26 points after 31 games.

Since being promoted to the Ghana Premier League in 2013 after defeating Danburt FC, the Accra-based club have enjoyed some impressive spells.

In their debut top flight season, they finished 8th in the league and were runners up in the 2013/14 FA Cup.

The rise of Inter Allies continued as they climbed into the top six the following season.

Performances dropped for the next two seasons as the club continued to sell their best players. They narrowly escaped relegation finishing 12th and 13th in the 2015/16 and 2017 season respectively.

Their fortunes changed as the club rose once again to the top 6 the next season. However, halfway through the season, the league was cancelled after Anas’ number 12 expose.

In the 2019/20 truncated season, Victorien Adebayor and Samuel Armah took the league by storm contributing to 18 goals. Inter Allies comfortably sat in 11th position before the league was cancelled due to Covid-19.

The club headed into the current season selling both Adebayor and Armah. The effect was immediate as they struggled for goals in the early part of the season.

Inter Allies picked up just two wins in their first 14 games and looked destined for the drop.

The Accra-based club fell to the bottom of the league on matchday 10 and haven’t moved since.

Three different coaches have had stints to try and save Inter Allies’ season with Henrik Lehm who started the season later passing the mantle to Dani Mujkanovic. Felix Aboagye was appointed in the second round and despite his good efforts, it looks like the club left it a little too late.

Eight players were signed during the mid-season break including former striker Armah. There was a sign of resurgence in the second round as they picked 12 points from their first 10 games. However, four consecutive defeats means the journey at the pinnacle of Ghana football ends for the Eleven is to One.

With three games to go, a strong finish could ignite hope of Inter Allies returning to the top flight sooner rather than later.
