Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak Samuel Boadu and attacker Ibrahim Salifu have been named NASO coach and player of the season after their title winning feat.
Boadu guided the Phobians to the title despite joining midway through the season. The former Medeama SC coach signed a three and half year deal with Hearts of Oak in March with the club 4 points adrift of then league leaders Karela United.
He replaced interim coach Samuel Nii Noi who took charge after the resignation of Kosta Papic. Boadu ended the season with 18 wins from 34 matches. He started the season with Medeama but ended as a champion with Hearts of Oak. He conceded 23 goals and scored 43 across the two teams he coached.
Ibrahim Salifu joined Hearts of Oak from Techiman Eleven Wonders and continued with his stellar performances which earned him the move. He scored 3 goals and bagged 8 assists in 33 matches. He earned 8 man of the match awards as he helped Hearts beat rivals Asante Kotoko to the title.
