Assembly Members of the Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly have overwhelmingly confirmed the President’s nominee for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position.
On Monday, September 27, Alhaji Mohammed Quaye was endorsed by all the 17 Assembly Members who turned up to vote at the Accra Technical Training Center (ATTC).
In his acceptance speech, the MCE, Mohammed Quaye, thanked the President and the Assembly Members for the confidence reposed in him to see to the growth and wellbeing of Ayawaso Central Municipality.
“I say thank you. Firstly, the thanks goes to the Almighty God, Allah. I will also like to thank His Excellency President Nana Akufo-Addo and the Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, as well as the Assembly Members who reposed in me this overwhelming endorsement,” he said.
He pledged his commitment to the development of Ayawaso Central and said his doors are open for fruitful advice and contributions for the wellbeing of the area.
“I promise to work hard to justify this confidence. I also promise to work with all of you to ensure that development, projects are brought to this Municipality.”
He added, “I will continue to introduce more reforms to help improve the Assembly’s revenue mobilisation. I will like to ensure you of a transparent and accountable administration [and also ensure] teamwork in solving challenges of the Municipality.”
The Greater Accra Region began processes to confirm MMDCE nominees Monday at the Ayawaso West Central, Korle Klottey and Ablekuma West Assemblies.
