Champions of the Women’s West Africa Football Union Zone B, Hasaacas Ladies have landed in Egypt ahead of their appearance in the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Hasaacas Ladies earned their ticket to participate in the competition after winning an eight team tournament organised for West African club’s in Zone B.
Prior to their triumph in West Africa, Hasaacas were crowned champions of Ghana’s Premier League, beating Ampem Darkoa Ladies to the trophy.
Their successes will now see them play in the newly-introduced CAF Champions League for women.
The team, which departed Accra earlier yesterday, arrived at the Cairo international airport about 9pm, in the company of Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Evelyn Nsiah Asare.
Head coach Yusif Basigi named 23 players for the tournament which includes star players, Milot Pokua, Janet Agyiri and Doris Boaduwaa.
The Ghanaian side have been drawn in Group A, where they will come up against Equatorial Guinea’s Malabo King FC, AS Mande of Mali and Egypt’s Wadi Degla.
