Asante Kotoko suffered their second defeat to King Faisal in the round of 64 stage of the MTN FA Cup in a Kumasi derby on Wednesday, December 29.
The Porcupine Warriors were hopeful of knocking out the Insha Allah lads out of the cup competition as revenge after ending their unbeaten start to the season.
However, Baba Yahaya's first-half strike was all King Faisal needed as they dumped their city rivals out of the FA Cup.
In other games, Ghana Premier League side, WAFA were also beaten on 4-3 penalties by Hearts of Lions, who advanced to the next round of the competition following a 1-1 score in regular time.
In another all-Premier League clash, Karela United twice came from behind to take their game against Medeama into a penalty shoot-out, where they ended up being 6-5 winners as they booked their spot in the round of 32.
