GIZ Ghana has pledged to provide training for 120 youths through its hospitality learning and job creation hub.
This, it believes will aid in reviving the hospitality industry post-Covid-19 and create employment.
Young people in the hospitality industry will be taken through a tailor made training that combines both traditional classroom, apprenticeship and practical methodologies.
According to its Head of Business and Investment, Anne Marie Castel Langefeld, the move is to provide practical customer and coaching services that will create job opportunities.
"We realize there is a common ground for all nationals and the hospitality sector needs more investments and training. That's why we embarked on this. We will at least aid in the employment of some of these young people after the training", she pointed out
At the launch, Portfolio Advisor for the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology, Ashwin Ravichandran, explained the need to invest in such initiative through the use of technology.
He intimated that his outfit is ready to provide a specialised academic and practical training which is expected to lead to an immediate employment.

It falls within the core mandate of invest for jobs: creating training opportunities and jobs, especially for youth and women by partnering with the private sector to address investment barriers like the qualification of potential employees.
GIZ is promoting inclusive, job-creating growth in Ghana to enhance employment prospects.Training and income-generating opportunities are therefore to be improved for low-income households, disadvantaged groups, returnees and individuals intending to migrate.
The aim is also to promote the private sector and digitalisation, in particular.
