Over the past few years, the month of March has been known as Ghana Month and it's designated to celebrate and portray Ghana's rich cultural heritage, diversity and all the cords that unit the citizens as a nation.
To mark the beginning of this years' edition, Joy Prime as usual, took a step ahead to thrill fans with exciting, educative and indigenous content throughout the three-hour morning show, Prime Morning, dubbed 'Ghana Month Celebration On Joy Prime'.
The show with the focus on projecting the Greater Accra Region started with a live performance from Sammy Abbeyquaye and the Superstar Int. Band to entertain viewers with pure Ga songs.
The presenters on the show, Jay Foley and Roselyn Felli were both clad in local outfits which made them stand out as Ghanaians. The studio as well was decorated with local artifacts and props to complement the show.
The presenters started the show with the following statement "Welcome to the month of March. It is our Ghana Month here at the Multimedia Group, Joy Prime. We are celebrating our heritage, our diversity and all the strands that unite us as a people and indigenes of Ghana"
"Take a journey with us this month through the 16 regions of Ghana as we bring you specially curated content on our customs, arts, music, food and everything you can think of."
"We are starting off in grand style by paying homage to our hosts, the Greater Accra, its culture, and its people. And we are privileged to be joined this morning by Sammy Abbeyquaye and the Superstar International Band as they serenade us with the music of the Ga people."
The first segment saw a live performance from Sammy Abbeyquaye and Superstar Int. Band, followed with some fun facts about the Greater Accra Region.
The second segment was more intriguing as Travel Curator and Vlogger, Henrietta Adjetey opened up on beautiful and must-see tourist sites in the Greater Accra Region.
The last hour of the show was dedicated to educating viewers on the importance of Ghanaian Traditional and Herbal medicines.
The two guests: Elizabeth Torgbor (Herbalist) and Nana Kwadwo Obiri (Gen. Sec. of GHAFTRAM) took their time to explain the health benefits of local herbs and the need to revisit the use of these herbs.
Viewers couldn't hide their excitement when the phone line was activated. All the callers complimented the show and asked for more of such content as we project Ghana throughout the month.
One of the callers (Michael from Sunyani) said "Ghana is a beautiful country, one of the things I love about Ghana is the peace we're enjoying. Let's keep projecting Ghana for others to see, this is a nice programme".
